Hi has anyone stayed at the Comfort Inn ,Lake Buena Vista? If yes has anyone stayed in one of their family rooms? We are thinking of upgrading as we have 2 children but it costs an additional $30 a night, just wondering if it is worth the extra cost. thanks in advance!

Upgrade to famliy room

Upgrade to famliy room

For Fandt94

Earlier in another thread you mentioned a waterpark near you that charges $12 per person. Were you referring to Splashdown Dunes or Deep River Water Park? We thought about trying one of them. Looked at both websites and don%26#39;t remember seeing that good a price. Do you have an insider tip on discount tickets?

For Fandt94

netterj - Hi there! LOL, the prices have gone up at BOTH of those waterparks. We didn%26#39;t go last summer but the summer before and paid $12 after the $2 Indiana Resident discount at Deep River. Now I see the regular admission before 2 PM is $18.95, factor in the Indiana resident discount and that makes it $16.95.

Rates before 2pm (7/4-8/15):

Regular admission- $18.95 ($16.95 for arrival after 2pm %26amp; before 5pm)

Under 46';- $7.95

12 months %26amp; under- Free

Spectator- $7.95

Indiana resident discount- $2.00 off the regular, under 46'; %26amp; Spectator admissions

The do have an August special though...I%26#39;ve copied and pasted for you.

SPLASHtastic August!

Deep River will be open regular hours 10am-6pm and all rides will operate throughout the day...but not all at the same time...and we%26#39;ve reduced the rates to make you a happy splasher!

Daily rates: 10am-6pm

Regular admission- $11.95

Under 46';- $5.95

12 months %26amp; under- Free

Spectator- $4.95

After 2pm rates:

Regular admission- $9.95

under 46';- $4.95

Indiana resident discount- $2.00 off all of the above rates

That looks like an excellent deal!

As for Splash Down Dunes, we used to go there all the time because they were so much cheaper than Deep River, but again, I see they have raised their rates too...$20 General Admission. I personally like both parks, but prefer Deep River overall because of it%26#39;s location, size and the variety of things to do. My kids have been bugging me to go there so we%26#39;re thinking of going tomorrow. I know it will be jam packed because it%26#39;s supposed to be a scorcher but you gotta do what you gotta do when it comes to entertaining the kids :-)

Where in Indiana are you located? Obviously it must be in the vicinity of both parks, but was just curious. We%26#39;re from the St. John/Cedar Lake area. Let me know if you decide to try either park.

  • Spring break in Destin - okay for children?

We are considering planning a trip to Destin for Spring Break %26#39;07. Wondering if it is an okay place to take a 10 year old during this time. Also, anyone have any suggestions on a nice full service(pool, game room, bar/restaurant etc.) beach front condo?

    Thanks!

Spring break in Destin - okay for children?

I would suggest Silver Shells. It has what you are looking for and more.

Most places in Destin do not rent to anyone under the age of 25. What we want is families on Spring Break, not college kids. They mostly go to Panama City Beach.

    Cost of a pint ?

How much is the average cost of a pint in International drive ?

    Cost of a pint ?

You will find quite a few postings on this one

have not been since last november but prices then had risen from year before especially in the english/irish pubs on I Drive these places are a rip off try and find a sports bar off I Drive if possible we overheard a row last year with an american out of towner who was shocked at the price this bar was charging for a local beer.

Imported beers cost more as you would expect but expect to pay around $4-5 for a pint it pays to go further out even by taxi and you can get a bud for $2

    hope this helps

    Cost of a pint ?

Probably between $3 and $5 depending on where you go and what type of beer. Guinness will be on higher end (at least $5). Many places serve pitchers of beer (60 ounces, I think)...usually more economical.

Go to the Supermarket, you can get a 12 pack of good beer for 15 bucks.

how about a 6 pack of root beer? and some ding dongs

    Leec1,

I%26#39;m on a diet, and that sounds really good.REALLY..REALLY!

i cant wait to try ding dongs, twinkies, milk duds, and any other candy that has sugar flowing from the sides. god bless america

    Leec1,

May I recommend Hostess Snowballs? They are chocolate cupcakes w/creme filling/covered in marshmallow and rolled in coconut. Also, put malted milk balls on the list.

If you can find cream soda, it%26#39;s even better than root beer (if you can imagine it). Just a few reasons why the dentists over here are rich! God bless America is right, but don%26#39;t sell yourselves short with your fabulous Twinnings Blackcurrant Tea (by appointment to her Majesty Queen Eizabeth II). Best tea ever. God save the Queen, and while I%26#39;m ';off topic';, do you think she will ever let Charles take over while she still has breath in her body?...Have a wonderful trip, and don%26#39;t forget to brush your teeth abut 5 times a day!!

dont know about charles taking over just yet not really paying much attention to all that!!. how about sweet tarts are they a dentists nightmare too?? or shall i say dream??

    Leec1,

You are a riot! Ok, here I go. Sweet Tarts are sweet and sour fruit flavored candies that melt in your mouth. they taste similar to chewable baby aspirin (which I used to fake illness for).

These lovely confections have some close ';relatives'; called %26#39;Pixie Stix'; which are in a long straw, and are the same thing only in powdered form. I have to tell you a funny story about these things. When we were little (circa 1957), cigaretts (sp) were 28 cents, and since my friend%26#39;s mum had a charge account at the corner store, we charged 28 pixie stix thinking she whould never catch on (wink wink/nudge nudge..sayyyy no more). She did!! Good old Mrs. Okeefe gave us HELLO!

moose some of your expressions are very english are you an expat??????????????? ';you are a riot'; very common east end of london!!

    Miramar Beach Villas?

I%26#39;m a snowbird, in the midst of a search for a monthly rental for January and February, and found a listing for Miramar Beach Villas. I think it might be in the general area between Majestic Sun and Amalfi. Also mentioned are the adjoining Shoppes of Miramar. Can anyone confirm that this development is a reality, and not still totally under construction?

    Miramar Beach Villas?

What I can figure out is it is partially still under construction. There is a finished one listed on VBRO, so obviously some are complete.

I don%26#39;t believe the Shoppes of Miramar are leased or sold yet, they may not be completed either.

I would ask the rental agent the completion date, but I wouldn%26#39;t count much on the Shoppes.

    Miramar Beach Villas?

Seems like what we could count on would be rather heavy construction activity. The one that%26#39;s completed and ready to rent sure looks nice, but I think we%26#39;ll wait until next year to try out that new development. Thanks, Semco, for your reply.

Sandywhite, January is 6 months away. Why don%26#39;t you at least call the rental agent and ask for the expected completion date.

The unit looks very nice except that gold bedspread! LOL

Six months away, yes ... but as in another subject here, I%26#39;m obsessed with Destin and feel compelled to do my research now. I also like the feeling when all reservations are made, and I can just look forward to our visit. Actually, I%26#39;ve found our favorite winter lodgings at a late date, due to needed changes in plans, etc. We really don%26#39;t need the 4 bedrooms that this villa offers, but I was curious about the status of construction there. And hey, I%26#39;ve seen much, much worse than the gold bedspread. Oh my yes.......

wheres great to go/eat xmas day

travelling xmas eve and wondered where / what great to do with kids xmas day to make it special?

    joy xox

wheres great to go/eat xmas day

As far as eating goes, many restaurants are closed on Christmas Day. Some close early Christmas Eve as well. Most hotel and all theme park restaurants are open. Since there is reduced availability, and a large crowd in town, it%26#39;s a good idea to book your reservations for Christmas dining as far ahead of time as possible.

The theme parks will be very crowded, but if you have a multi day ticket and will be spending other days in the parks to catch what you miss, it can be a fun way to spend the day. Also, spending the day at the beach can be fun.

wheres great to go/eat xmas day

    Hello tollumgrange,

We usually go to Epcot for Christmas Day and book the Garden Grill character meal which is also included in the Candlelight Processional package. If you are planning on eating in one of the Disney parks make your reservations now as everything will be booked on Christmas Day! In fact many of the times are probably already taken. We also enjoy the Liberty Tree Tavern at the Magic Kingdom, 50%26#39;s Prime Time Cafe and the Sci-Fi Dine in theater at MGM Studios. For a list of menus and more information on Disney dining go to www.allearsnet.com

    Windsor Hills villa construction?

We will be making our first trip to Disney World (spring 2007) and hear many wonderful things about Windsor Hills and their villas? Does anybody know if there is still construction going on in the existing areas, specifically streets like Basnett, Dinville, Manesty, Daulby (or any way to find out)?

    Windsor Hills villa construction?

I think Windsor Hills finished building 4 years ago.

    Windsor Hills villa construction?

We were there last month and stayed in the condos, but we also drove around the complex and I did not notice any construction. I do know when we were there they were still working on basketball and tennis courts. Call directory and get a number for the WH Clubhouse, they can answer all your questions. Our condo was less than a year old.

We stayed there in June. The new villa construction is all the way in the back. We drove down Daulby to go to an open house that street is far from the construction.

Good choice - Windsor Hills is a great resort. Basnett, Dinville, Manesty, Daulby have all been completed for some time. Windsor Hills Reserve is presently being constructed to the west of the resort.

Thank you much to everyone for the info. It sounds like we won%26#39;t be waking to the sounds of hammering in any of the established areas. We are looking forward to our visit, right now the tough choice is deciding among all of the owners who responded to our enquiries. So many people came through with what look like wonderful properties. The family members have spent a lot of time making up their list of favorites.

I know it has been mentioned in other posts, but one very useful website we found was http://ira.property-appraiser.org/. It was a great help in finding out the exact address of each property. We then plotted each property out on a property map which can be found on many websites. I think we were able to determine the address for all but 2 out of 25 replies we received.
