florida is getting expensive in shopping etc.

hi all,

i have been going to orlando for over 5 years and over the years and especilly last year i found that orlando is getting expensive in eating, shopping and petrol etc.

what does everyone think

pam

florida is getting expensive in shopping etc.

Hmmmmm how can it be expensive if the 拢 is getting stronger against the $

So i would say no

florida is getting expensive in shopping etc.

It depends on where you got to eat. I find the theme parks (except Epcot) have crappy food and it%26#39;s not worth the money. Cape Canaveral was the worst!

But is%26#39;nt that what vacation%26#39;s are about...spending tons of money to have a good time?

Perhaps it%26#39;s just that Britain%26#39;s getting cheaper!! Certainly at some of the outlet malls here you can pick up bargains just as good as those in Orlando.

hi king100,

just because the pound might get stronger it does not mean that the things have not gone up.

look at the price of gas

eating out has gone up

when were you last there

wake up everthing has gone up

pam

Everything has gone up over here too.

Here%26#39;s you economics report for the day.

The U.S. economy has been experience a period of slight to somewhat moderate inflation of about 3 to 4% over the last year in all durable goods, mainly due to the increased cost of fuel and transportation.

When gas/oil/diesel prices increase, costs for manufacturing and transport of goods also must increase and a chain reaction begins and spreads throughout all sectors of the economy. To combat this, the Federal Reserve continues to increase interest rates, which causes stock prices to fall or be volatile at best.

So, most folks probably have seen in increase in the cost of all things for sale, including food and durable goods over the last year or so.

If you think it is expensive comming here you should try going the other way. The exchange rate is very much in your favor.

I personally do not think Orlando is much more expensive than it was on my first visit six years ago. That is with the exception of petrol/gas. There again as it has been said many times on this forum we Brits still get a great deal when filling our hire cars up.

As for eating out, the buffet retaurants may have put their prices up by around a dollar per meal, over six years I don%26#39;t think that is bad at all.

As for the outlet shopping places I always manage to fill an extra suitcase for when I fly home and still find plenty of bargains. I have picked up designer t-shirts cheaper this time than I did on my first visit.Obviously staying within my 拢145 limit.

I will also say the prices would have to go up very drastically to stop me visiting, but hey I%26#39;m not a big tipper so I can afford to keep going. LOL.

Well i was actually there in Oct and last February, i go on average 4 - 5 times a year.

Prices to me have stayed the same. Even as a young boy the price hasent risen much on clothes.

What do you expect, gas is what $9 a gallon in the UK, dont forget there is still a war on so the price rises. As when it comes to clothes you cant complain levi 501 uk 拢55 us $35 as far as i have seen the pice is what you pay in 拢 over here in $. Have you ever eaten out in Planet Hollywood, Rainforest of TGIFridays in the UK they charge you exactly what you pay in $.

Get a disnet dining plan and save yourself a fortune.

Forgot i just got back 3 days ago from 2 weeks over there.

Was filling up my SUV with $40 was on 1/4 of a tank. Though i wasent going to get the full $40 in. Thats what i call cheap.
