Looking for a great place to stay

My husband and I are coming with another couple to PCB to celebrate our 10th anniversary. I%26#39;m trying to decide on a place to stay--we%26#39;d like a balcony that makes the most of a beach view, and to be able to walk to some good restaurants and bars. I was looking at the Days Inn, Nautical Watch Condos, Sunbird Suites, or Paradise Found Resorts. Any ideas?

I wouldn%26#39;t recomend the Nautical Watch, you do have the balcony overlooking the ocean but the condos themselves are very run down and shabby looking on the outside (don%26#39;t know about inside). I was just walking by them thinking that this morning thinking that I wouldn%26#39;t like to stay there)

Also, while the water was clear almost everywhere else this morning, about 10 yards of water directly in front of those condos was solid seaweed this morning. I don%26#39;t know if that%26#39;s a normal accxumulation point or if it was just the way the tides were this morning, but it was pretty icky.

Have you looked on vbro.com ?

If you%26#39;re planning a romantic nice anniversary dinner, the Saltwater Grill is awesome!

Thanks for the tip about Nautical Watch..

I was just looking at vrbo.com, and saw some nice looking spots at the Summit (?), I think that was what it was called. I think it%26#39;s right next to Club LaVela...which we might want to visit, but we%26#39;re not crazy about really loud music all night long. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help!

LaVela is really not too wild when it%26#39;s not spring break, so you might not be bothered staying close to there. I know a lot of college kids stay at the Summit during Spring Break, but I%26#39;m not sure what it%26#39;s like the rest of the year. Some other people here might know better than me. I%26#39;m great with advice on restaurants and shopping, but since we live here, I don%26#39;t know a whole lot about the hotels and condos :)

Stay at Edgewater, the place is wonderful. Read my earlier post! If you have big bucks to spend and want real luxury, stay at EnSoliel. spelling?, it is an Edgewater sister resort and is top of the line.

Chrissi

stay away from summit %26amp; sunbird, edgewater is great, everything is right there, 3 pools, hottubs, tennis, exercise room, par 3 golf course, palapas rest. on site is very good for breakfast, and edgewater mall across street has theater montego bay rest., bowling alley etc.

Why do you say stay away from the Summitt?

Someone may disagree with me, but seems to me that Long Beach resort has an awesome view of the beach from the balcony, a 40 ft balcony, and all the rooms have glass walls facing the ocean. Go to vrbo.com, and find a good rate, as they are having several last minute cancellations for the 4th of july...not sure when you are planning to come. The long beach resort is just a few steps from pineapple willy%26#39;s too, and they all say its great!

we looked at summit and they were not very friendly, the place was very dated and the rooms were musty. the unit we looked at even the ceiling tile was loose.

We%26#39;ve stayed at several places in PCB including Edgewater and the Summit twice each. We were happy at both places as were our kids. Some of the condos at the Summit are dated, but some are beautiful (just see photos before you book!). Two huge pools and a kids%26#39; playground on the beach are nice too. Across from Hammer Head Fred%26#39;s which is a great restaurant and we would walk to Spinnaker%26#39;s for lunch which was was nice.

Edgewater is more centrally located and within walking distance of more shopping and restaurants. It is a huge resort and more expensive. Not so sure you get your money%26#39;s worth there in comparison to the Summit but that%26#39;s just me!

Good luck!

Hey whocares why do you suggest avoiding the Sunbird?
