Weekend in Ft. Walton- anything to do other than the beach?

Don%26#39;t get me wrong we love the beach but what else is there to do in Ft. Walton? Nightlife? Shopping? Attractions? Thanks!

';Gulfarium'; is on Okaloosa. Also The Pier, where you can walk out %26amp; watch the big fish being caught. Couple of good restaurants open to the beach, at The Pier. Angler%26#39;s %26amp; Crab Trap.

Good shooping at Uptown Station (Beall%26#39;s Outlet store) %26amp; Santa Rosa Mall.

Destin is just 5 miles away. Plenty of charters to check out in the Harbor. Banana Barts is a terrific little souvenior shop, right on 98.

Silver Sands Outlet Mall is east of Destin on 98.

There is a Visitor%26#39;s Center just east of The Pier, on Okaloosa... lots of discount coupons %26amp; ideas.

I think there is also a military museum, but I%26#39;m not familiar with it.

Also boat rentals %26amp; jet skis, but again, I%26#39;m not familiar.

Just don%26#39;t forget your camera %26amp; sun screen :-)

Hi leeshajoy, I%26#39;ve replied to some of your questions %26amp; read all your forums. I%26#39;m curious if you%26#39;ve decided on a place %26amp; which one is it? I%26#39;m guessing it%26#39;s in Fort Walton %26amp; you got a good rate. If it is Fort Walton you%26#39;ll love it there. If you get bored Destin%26#39;s a short 10 minute beautiful drive. Usually the people you rent from will have brochures and maps. If not you can pick one up at most stores. That will give you good ideas on things to do. We always go to the harbor walk in Destin. That%26#39;s where the fishing %26amp; tour boats leave from. There are several good restaurants. My favorite is AJ%26#39;s, it%26#39;s got an open deck on top and McGuire%26#39;s Irish Pub. It%26#39;s across the street close to there. Have fun!
