Never been to Destin Looking at mid October with teens.

HI- I need help finding a condo in the right locaton to please everyone. Looking for gulf front that is within a short walk to shops. Our teens get restless in the evenings and like to get out and walk around looking around at tourist type shops, ice cream parlors, etc. and of course Mom wont let them get too far away without her. Sooo...Could anyone recomend some condos that might keep us happy? Thanks for any ideas.

I would recommend Sandestin Resort. There are two shopping / entertainment areas on the Resort. Baytowne Wharf or the Shops at Sandestsin. A tram service runs throught the entire property so the teens would have transportation.

Secondly, I would recommend Silver Shells. It across the street from two shopping / business centers which includes walmart and many other stores. If they walk ON THE SIDEWALK to the west, it is fairly close to the track and a few other places. Disadvantage, they would have to cross Hwy 98 to get to any of the above mentioned places.

Crystal Beach is another thought. It is within walking distance of four shopping centers including the ';Mall'; Destin Commons.

Go take a look at this map. Many of the mentioned places are marked and it will help you see where the shopping etc is.

Hi Ky40741 I am know that area code i am from 40701(Corbin). I Can tell you personally that Sandestin is where you want to go in mid October, and pesonally I think October is one of the best months to go. You are going to love it. I have been going to Destin for Many years now. I will also be staying at the Sandestin resort in mid October. I am actually leaving in the morning for Destin and i am staying at the Crystal Sands condos on Crystal beach. CANT WAIT!!!!! Destin gets in your blood i think and you cant get enough of it. If you need more information let me know. I will be gald to help.

Hey - Harleywood - we%26#39;re neighbors :) There are so many condos listed for the Destin area, the more I look the more confused I get. We normally like the smaller complexes, but looks like those are few and far between. Any suggestions? Could you tell me about any ';must do or must see'; kinda things? Thanks for any input..

we are staying at gulf winds east condos 1300 sf. 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath full kit. washer/dryer 2 story walk across street the beach. down the street from pompano joes got to eat there best seafood. destin outlet mall about 2 miles down street. cost 168.00 in july i think in october it is around 100.00 per night. the website is gulfwindseastdestin.com hope this helps it is beautiful here.

ky40471-- i 2nd the sandestin thing. it is a true resort. it also has a rockwall, huge slide and jumpolines on property. taking the tram across to baytown is so much fun. tons of shops and entertainment. go to sandestinbeachresort.com. the condos i recommend in sandestin that are directly on beach are westwinds, beachside l and beachside ll. they are high rises, but very family oriented. not loud resorts. also, there are shops in sandestin that are walking distance like ice cream, clothing, games, ect. hope this helps. oh, if you are not deadset on staying directly on beach, sandestin has lots of other accomadations. just check out the webite. 2boys

ky40741--sandestin also has bike rentals. they usually have like 2 hours free bike rentals. thought kids might like that too. 2boys
