We%26#39;re off to Orange Lake for teh first time soon - any advice or info on the resort?

We went to Orange Lake a couple of years ago and loved it. The villas are very spacious - ours had two bedrooms, one with two queen size beds and one with a king size and two good size bathrooms. There are a number of pools on the complex and of course the golf, which we weren%26#39;t into at all but it was nice to have a villa overlooking the links. It is in a good position for Disney but the traffic can get quite heavy going into the parks in the morning so set off early, or use the shortcut via sherbeth road (off the 192 just opposite splendid china) This road takes you straight into disneyworld the back way and cuts out loads of traffic queues. There is also a Publix supermarket right next door to orange lake which has everything you%26#39;ll need if you%26#39;re planning to be self catering. We thought that the quality of accomodation was very good and you get good sized appliances, fridge with ice maker, washing machine and tumble drier etc.

I would recommend you buy the %26#39;brits guide to orlando + walt disneyworld%26#39; this was our bible both times we went to florida and its full of up to date tips and reccommendations.

hi we just got back 2 weeks ago, we had a great time. the place is HUGE!!!!! you might want to rent a car becuse it is so bi. nice clean rooms and clean pools. have fun and like they said use the shortcut. if you have any questions let me know.

My wife and I own there and we love it. Lots of activities, restraunts, new water park has opened. One thing though, the resort is huge, and if you are not driving there I would suggest renting a car. They do have a bus system within the resort and I here it is very good, but I prefer to have my own vehicle. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask.

Whe you say use the shortcut do you mean to go anywhere or just if going to Disney (which we wont be).

Publix is our favourite chain in Florida the deli take away subs are unbelievable, or at least were both time we%26#39;ve been before.

I%26#39;ll go check out that route on the yahoo maps to see where it is.

What else is down that neck of the woods of interest. We are at Vistan last time a bit further up the road and never reall ventured down Kissimmee way at all.

If you%26#39;re doing Universal, its going to be a bit of a hike. You may need to use the shortcut through Disney just to shorten the trip to Universal, lol!

Of course, you may just be visiting Central Florida, not the theme parks, like bssd likes to do. Have a great trip!

No, we went to Disney when my son was 8 and he was bored then. He%26#39;s now 13 so there%26#39;s no chance.

Anyway we%26#39;ve got the 14 day Flex tickets to gitter about with.

Wot them last time three years ago and it was great to able to go in and then just come away without killing yourself in the heat and go back another day.

We stayed there a year ago May with family in a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit over looking the golf course. We LOVED it and plan to go again in 2008. You could see the fireworks at Disney through your living room! Great pools, slide, pool volleyball and basketball, lake with jet ski and boat rentals and sandy beach, the water park was being built when we were there along with the resort%26#39;s own access to Disney. There is a theater, bingo by one of the pools, mini golf, ping pong and many other amenities and activities. One suggestion would be is to try and get a newer unit when you check in. This was never a problem with us as that is what the person checking us in said we already had (through a RCI exchange), but you may want to request this. I never saw an older unit, but that was a suggestion that I found helpful on this site when I was planning our trip. You%26#39;ll have a great time!

Hey EddieK,how you doing? Glad you remember why I go there. Been meaning to ask you, read an article on your town on Local 6 that you are the strip club Capital of Central Florida, and you people want to change that with ordinances to place them where people think they should be. Pretty much gone?
