Can anyone give me any information on my travel flights as it will be our first time with this airline, we have flown with Thomas Cook and First Choice and wondering if there is any comparison. Also we would like to know what the food is like, and if they have T.V screens on the back of seats or is it one big screen. Any help would be appreciated.
advice on flying with my travel
Hola,
I went with My Travel last time three years ago. They%26#39;re a budget airline so they are usually fairly tight space wise.
Food was not bad I think but I don%26#39;t really ever eat much on planes but the others said it was okay.
Expect to be delayed though.
Before I went I did some trwaling and saw a post somewhere that said they were always delayed for some reason and they were correct with our flights too.
Two hours plus going and about four hours coming back which made it a really tiring overnighter.
At Glasgow they did give us vouchers for refreshment which i think they are obliged to do but nothing in America and Sanford doesn%26#39;t have much in ways of anything to do so that was murder. Make sure you have mp3 or video player to entertain yourself.
Seats in the back of headrests - no, sorry I%26#39;ve only had them once on a BA flight and never since. What a luxury.
However staff were fine and the actual flight was as smooth as silk.
You pay for the headphones on the flight too by the way.
advice on flying with my travel
My Travel is not as good as first choice, But its a little better than Thomas Cooks- JMC. Its a A330 Airbus they use. They do have seat back TV%26#39;s . They charge for everything on the flight. The seating space is like Thomas Cook -Jmc. But the in-flight food is better.
One thing to watch is you luggage weight , and they will charge for everything over weight.. Look at you tickets to see what luggage allowance they have given you. Check in staff are not allowed to vary this for any reason.
While you might be travailing on a MY Travel aircraft. just take note that your tickets are not an Airtours Sun Deal holiday or what they call a late booking. Because if it is you will only get 15Kg + 5 Kg luggage allowance. A standard economy gives you 20 Kg.
Although not a lot if you travel out with an absolute minimum, avoiding heavy items like bottles of shampoo, Shoes, Irons, hair dryers and towels , most of which aprovided, and more then one pair of shoes in your cases you can do a reasonable shop to come home..
You can purchase an extra 5Kg between 3 %26amp;7 days before departure @ 拢27 each way. its cheaper to Up grade that pay this.
thanks for the reply its just that ive 2 choices who to fly with i can go with my travel and have the advantage of an early flight at 9.15 from manchester and return on early flight 4.15.
or fly with thomas cook later time of 13.10 and later flight coming home
with never flying with my travel before heard they do have delays and wondered if thats a regulur thing with them
All charters get delays as air traffic control give priority to schedule carriers. We have flown My Travel many times without any un duly long delays One hour fifteen max, and most of that is made up on the flight. When they have a late take off they tend not to throttle back so far away from the destination airport as they would if on time.
I wouldn鈥檛 worry about it. I have been on very few aircraft in 30 years that have pick its feet up on time no matter what carrier it has been
I%26#39;d get the earlier flight every time as you are less likely to be delayed behind other flights that have missed their slots and are backed up.
