Girls weekend

Where is the best place to stay, eat on Siesta Key for a girls weekend (3 nights for 2) ? Laid back, Beach, Sun, Shopping and Eating are the main objectives. Trying to stay under 200 per night. I appreciate any feedback!

As far as food goes on Siesta there are expensive places and cheaper places. At the expensive end is Ophelia%26#39;s on the Bay.

Turtle%26#39;s Restaurant is less expensive and you can sit on the water.

In the Siesta Village is Gabbiano%26#39;s and Blase Cafe.

The Lobster Pot is also nice.

For breakfast in the village is the Broken Egg and the Village Cafe.

There are also tons of options on the mainland and St. Armand%26#39;s Circle (also upscale shopping).

For lodging, it depends on your budget.

I always recommedn the Tropical Shores Resort on Crescent Beach.

The Banana Bay Beachside or BB Waterside.

Both have excellent reviews on the Tripadvisor hotel section.

Also check out the Sarasota Forum for more options.

SRQgirl,

Did you see the last review posted for The Tropical Shores Resort. It sounds like they were at a different hotel than all the previous posts. I have a reservation in October to stay there for a long weekend, and now I%26#39;m a little nervous. Are you local? Are the beaches still in need of clean up from last year%26#39;s hurricanes? Was Siesta Key even directly hit by a hurricane?

Yes, I am a local. I stayed at Tropical Shores for the 4th of July to view the fireworks on Siesta Key. The room was spotless and the staff was wonderful. The grounds have tropical plantings. I have a friend with 3 children staying there this Wednesday night.

Tropical Shores Resort is not like a Marriott ';resort ';. There aren%26#39;t any bars or restaurants on the grounds. They are across the street on Midnight Pass Rd. This is why I recommend this for families.

I will inform the owners of this negative review.
