If you haven%26#39;t already, check out the user reviews on Trip Advisor for these hotels. Plug in the hotel names in the search box in the upper left hand corner, and you should find reviews.

The Grosvenor is the cloest to DTD and is a easy walk to it.
Our first trip out we stayed at Grosvenor. We had a great experience. It was very inexpensive but nice. Which is good for a large conference, you will have some who can spend more than others. It is directly across the street from Downtown disney. It is also last on the shuttle pickup for the parks which is a bonus. Often coming back we would either take a downtown disney bus or get off of shuttle at the resort across the street and walk across.
We had a tower room for $50 a night facing downtown disney. Everynight at midnight I had a great spectacular fireworks display that I watched ( husband and babies all asleep).
Remember it is not a luxery resort but nice.
Grovesnor is more motel like in many of its rooms. The meeting facilities are good. Lobby is very small as I recall. It is next to The Beuna Vista Palace then DTD, so it%26#39;s a very short walk to the shops.
The Royal Plaza was closed for some time for a COMPLETE, and much needed rennovation (it had become a real mess) and, I think, an ownership change. It%26#39;s looking really good. Nicer than the Grovesnor. The back of the hotel will face I-4 and the rooms may be noisey. Just ask for rooms to the front of sides away from the highway. It%26#39;s slightly further away from DTD, but not much. Given that it has just re-opened, it will be in prime condition.
Thank you for your great input. I have arrangements to go see the Royal Plaza and the Grosvenor in two weeks for a site visit. I will pay attention to what rooms we would have (away from highway). Thanks again!
Julie,
I have stayed at this hotel during two vacations. One was just us adults and the other was with teens. This hotel is great for its location. Walk across the street to Downtown Disney for retaurants, movies, gifts, etc. or walk a mile for restaurants outside the Disney Village. The room was well kept and the breakfast buffet was outstanding. I was only in my room to sleep for around 4 hours and never interacted with staff except upon check-in and breakfast, but staff seemed very pleasant.
