Cooral gables / Miami downtown, or coconut grove/

I am trying to ascertain how far these three areas are to each other. The reason being that some hotels will have coral gables / downtown, or coconut grove/ coral gables. Are these areas the

same, or just close to each other.

Also which of these areas is the best

Just returned from a trip to South Beach, Miami and went to Vizcaya which is in Coconut Grove and Bayside which is in Downtown. The two were very close together. We drove from SoBe through downtown then hit Coconut Grove. Saw signs for Coral Gables, but didn%26#39;t go there.

Coconut Grove was very nice. A bit upscale. I heard Coral Gables is geared toward the retired community. BTW so was Vizcaya.

Good luck hope that helps. Make sure to check out the Art Deco in South Beach!

Coral Gables is the nicest area of the three. This is where the Biltmore Hotel is. It has a lot of great restaurants (Houston%26#39;s, Ruth Chris, plus some great local mom and pops etc.) and some shoping. It is a wealthy area of Miami. I am a 30 year old local, and prefer the Gables over the club scene SoBe. Coral Gables is about 10 minutes from Downtown with traffic. Coconut Grove started as an Artist Colony years ago. It has evolved to a layed back trend area. It has shopping dining and some really nice hotels. A Ritz-Carlton is hear. Its about 5 minutes from downtown. If I was coming to visit Miami I wouldn%26#39;t stay in downtown. I hope this helps.
