To get to Sanibel in the past we have always flown to Miami and then driven across, a fairly tiring journey. Has anybody out there attempted flying to Fort Myer via somewhere and how did it go? We can fly from any south east airport in the UK, flying at Easter

My alternate airport is Tampa International [TPA] which is still 3 hours away but an easier drive than Miami IMHO.
You can fly into any hub airport for a US airline servicing Ft Myers. Philadelphia (US Airways), Newark, (Continental) Atlanta 9Delta), etc. and then catch a connecting flight. Be sure to allow plenty of time to clear customs and immigration and change planes. On Easter week, I fly and then drive to avoid missing connections, but that%26#39;s me.

Jet Blue, a newish and very popular American ';discount'; carrier, flies tnonstop to Ft. Myers out of New York JFK and I believe will soon start nonstop service from New York to Sarasota, further than Ft. Myers, but not as far as Tampa.
I flew Jet Blue To Ft. Myers last January and was very pleased with the service and the price. Jet Blue fares have gone up quite a bit recently, and I doubt you will find a bargain over the Easter holiday. But it%26#39;s worth keeping in mind, as there are many flights from the UK to JFK (BA, UA, AA, to name a few). For more information on Jet Blue, go to their website, www.jetblue.com.
