Many of you have mentioned that you called ahead and requested a refurbished room in writing and verbally. My question is...do you call the resort directly or the general Marriott number? How early do you do this?

Requesting specific room at Grande vista
We stayed there last year-we called the resort directly. I did it soon after we made the reservaions (few months in advance), and then again about 2 weeks before arriving. They gave us exactly what we requested (to be near main pool). They might offer you a different ';area'; than you requested to get you into your room earlier, but we declined, hung out by the pool until our room was ready.
