Coaster Fear - Areosmith V Hulk

Can someone who has been to Orlando recently put unto perspective how much more scary The Hulk is compared to Rock n Roller coaster Areosmth ride. My boyfriend was terrified of going on the latter but once he finally did he loved it and went on it 5 times in a row at Eurodisney (was his first coaster experience). It has been a long while since I have been to Orlando and I cannot remember how much worse, if at all , the Hulk was? (I am trying to compile a list of rides where I know I will end up in the';single rider queue';). Personally, it is the actual queueing process that scares me the most as by the time I am the front to board I am cr*pping myself!

Cheers :-)

Coaster Fear - Areosmith V Hulk

For me, what was scary about Aerosmith was the unknown factor. It is the dark and you cant tell what is coming up next. A drop, a turn, etc.

For the Hulk, it is the countdown for the first hill. The anticipation of shooting up, up, up, at speeds that most people haven%26#39;t felt before.

The net that streaches across the park always has people%26#39;s belongings on it, which is freaky.

And you hear the people screaming as they are plummeting down to the earth.

Personally, I liked the Hulk much better then Aerosmith.

My 16 year old son went on the Eurodisney Rock n Roller coaster, like your boyfriend, so many times in a row, and each time tried to persuade me to go on too. I just couldn%26#39;t face it!! But ... the next time we went to Paris, I tried it - and then went three times in a row! I loved it!! In Orlando, it was my first port of call, with three friends who had never been on an ';inverted'; ride before. They loved it too. I would have gone on Hulk, but after riding Kraken at SeaWorld and feeling a bit off for a couple of hours, I gave Hulk a miss. Rock n Roller coaster, I think is quite tame, compared with the Hulk.

Ha ha , Kraken, I remember that well - have pretty much ruled that one out for him cos of the first drop - he doesnt like the look of the duelling dragons either but i find that one just damn good fun! Quite what I will do with him at Busch Gardens I don%26#39;t know - I shall just have to leave him with the animals!

I think The Hulk has the best launch of all the coasters we%26#39;ve been on. It%26#39;s absolutely not to be missed!

Just tell your boyfriend that my 11 year old daughter rode it as soon as she was tall enough, and would go back for repeat rides.

That might put it in perspective for him!

Hulk definitely No1

RNC Good launch then pony

Dualing Dragons Pony

Kraken - Not bad but Hulk better

I never knew what the hulk would be like and the 1st launch was WOW went on it a further 4 times

I loved both Hulk and Duelling Dragons, fast, ';smooth'; (as far as a ride can be!) open roller coaster - hated Rock n Roller because it is dark and tosses you around too much.

If he loved Rock n Roller do not see that he will have a problem with Hulk, but perhaps the very openness of the ride is the problem - some people appear to prefer not to see around them.

Sounds like I%26#39;m in the minority, but I had a migrain headache after riding Hulk the first time because it threw me around so much and I banged my head a dozen times. Aerosmith roller coaster was much smoother for me, so I liked it better for that reason.

Duelin Dragons gets my vote for overall best coasters in Orlando with Kraken a close second. Loved both of these and didn%26#39;t have a headache with either one!!

I think the ';suspension'; roller coaster which ';dangle'; from the topend track, instead of an ';underneath'; track, are much smoother rides.

No big drops on RRC, but a very fast acceleration into darkness (0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds or so). After the acceleration, just loops and stuff; I personally didn%26#39;t mind loops too much, but the beginning was a little intense (the fear leading up to it was part of it). When I rode Hulk years ago, there was a ';twist'; both literally and figuratively (something unexpected) near and at the top of the first hill; I thought it was pretty cool, but a nervous person might be thrown for a loop by it. Most of the Hulk ride I was waiting for something I couldn%26#39;t handle, but it never came, and enjoyed it. I really can%26#39;t do those coaster rides anymore; more mental than anything else.
