We%26#39;re returning from a cruise on a September Sunday and would like to spend just the day at either a resort or hotel with pool as we will be catching a 5 p.m. flight back home later in the day. Are there any ';day resorts'; in Ft. Lauderdale? Or perhaps a hotel that would allow early checkin (like 11 a.m. or so) so we could relax by the pool before our flight home. I really don%26#39;t want to spend 7 or 8 hours at the airport.
Also, we were thinking of using the Tri-Rail system from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami and vice versa. We won%26#39;t have much luggage and think it could be an inexpensive and fun way to travel between the cities. I understand we%26#39;d have to switch to Metrorail in Miami and then Metromover to get to the Intercontinental hotel in downtown Miami. Is this do-able without having it take up a lot of our time or should we just take a shuttle? Thanks for any input you might have.
Ft. Lauderdale ';just for the day'; resort/hotel
about two years ago i took tri rail from fort lauderdale to miami. there is a free bus from airport to tri rail. tri rail to metrorail then to the metromover. i thought it was fun. it took about 2 hours or so. this sept. im going on a cruise and staying at intercontinental as well. ive looked at limo rates 65.00 from infinity transportation online.i still havent decided limo or tri rail. we get in at 8am so we have the extra time. a shuttle i wouldnt do. cost is usually 25.00-30.00 per person. as far a resort after im not sure. have you thought of a tour. most ship offer tours the day of . all baggage is handled and they take you to airport. were staying an extra day after in fort lauderdale but i havent decided where. any other question feel free to e mail me at anglhrt2@hotmail.com.
