first timer visiting sanibel island, need help!!!!`

I am looking at options for a vacation end of Apirl 2007. I have read nice things about sanibel island have never been that far south on gulf side only to clearwater/st pete beach. I need suggestions for a place to stay, need a 2 bedroom condo/cottage can be a hotel too whatever is best and would like a kitchen area as well. Definitely have to be on the beach and have a oceanfront room.

I look forward to hearing back, there are so many places just dont want to pick the wrong one.

thanks for the help!!

You picked a good time to come to Sanibel if you are coming the last week of April as the rates go down that week. You can get a gulf front unit for about $1400 or $1500 %26amp; tax for the week. The larger more family friendly complexes like Point Santo, Loggerhead Cay or Sundial are big favorites with families because there is a lot of activity. Smaller complexes like Sand Point, Sayana or White Sands on West Gulf Drive are good options if you like a quieter atmosphere. Good Luck and have a great vacation.

We have stayed at the Sundial Resort twice in 4 years. Condos here can be arranged thru the on-site management company or through the owner/private rental agency. Both times we arranged for our room through Royal Shell rather than the resort itself. They are many buildings, none are too far from the beach but if you want gulf front be sure to look for those units. Check in/out was easy and they can arrange for anything you need. There is no housekeeping but I believe you could make arrangements if you wanted it. We stayed in E104 and it is wonderful -- first floor, gulf front, steps to the beach. We like ground level b/c the kids can go in %26amp; out as they please. We also like Sundial b/c there are several small pools throughout as well as a main resort pool. During our last trip, we used the poolside bar %26amp; grill and it was great. We ate once in the resort dining room %26amp; service was a little slow but not horrible. Biking on the island is great, the Ding nature preserve is interesting %26amp; there are lots of fun places to eat and have drinks. We%26#39;ve recommended Sanibel to numerous friends; all have stayed in different condos/hotels but all have come back happy. It%26#39;s a great place to kick back and relax. Have a great time!
