I am currently planning a week trip to Captiva during the second week of October. I have been trying to decide the best place to stay based on service, quality, reviews, and price. I have read many bad reviews regarding SouthSeas and Captiva Inn B%26amp;B. Can anyone compare and give advice as to where to stay this fall based on what they%26#39;ve seen on how the resorts are currently looking and prices I%26#39;m finding??
I%26#39;m debating between the following and have included pricing:
Southseas (187/night)
Captiva Inn B%26amp;B (range from 99 to 160/night)
Jensens Gulf (200/night)
Jensens Marina (130/night)
Tweens Inn (range from 205 to 270/night)
Any guidance is much appreciated!!
Need a Captiva Resort Recommendation
I haven%26#39;t been at South Seas since Charley, but found it over priced. Right now they have the pre-opening specials running, but they%26#39;re not at full staff and many facilities, including most restaurants and the main pool, are not open. I haven%26#39;t seen an updated schedule lately.
Never stayed at Captiva B%26amp;B, but I don%26#39;t care for it location and the service at the restaurants they own is also up and down. Not a resort, just a place to spend a night or two.
Jensens Marina are modest cabins and there will be NO servies to speak of. Same for Jensen%26#39;s on the Gulf. No pool or tennis or anything. Great locations.
Tween Waters does have pool, tennis, restaurants, etc. You%26#39;d want to be sure to get a rennovated room or better still, a rennovated cottage.
For the price, check out a house in Sunset Captiva or a condo at Captiva Shores. More space and you could walk to all the restaurants as stuff both at Tweens Waters and by Captiva B%26amp;B. You%26#39;d get a LOT more for the $$$.
Need a Captiva Resort Recommendation
You can get a two bedroom/two bathroom gulf front condo at Captiva Shores for about $180.00/night. I like Captiva Shores as it is smaller and what is called a Gulf to Bay property. You have the beach right there, but also the bay to sit and watch for Manatees and dolphins. There is also a heated pool on-site.
This would be more for a quiet, low-key stay. They are a seven night minimum, but in my opinion one of the best options on Captiva. Try Royal Shell, they have a majority of those units for rent.
